STEM Project Concludes at Fallston Middle School on June 8
Fallston Middle School began a very exciting STEM project for its 6th grade students this year. In early May, Dr. Don Thomas (pictured), a former NASA astronaut, visited the school to help kick-off the program and introduce a challenge to the students. Twenty-three students applied to the program and were accepted. They were each given a copy of the science fiction book, “Have Space Suit Will Travel” by Robert Heinlein to read and discuss in an online book club. Next, they were asked to think of an adaptation they would make to the space suit depicted in the book and create a power point presentation and/or model to propose their ideas. Read more...
