Newbery Medal Winning Author Russell Freedman to Visit Harford County Public Library

Russell FreedmanNewbery Medal winning author Russell Freedman will be discussing his newest book, The War to End All Wars: World War I, at the Abingdon Branch of Harford County Public Library on May 19 at 4:00 pm.

As a highly acclaimed writer of nonfiction for young readers, Freedman has received nearly every major children’s literary award including the Newbery Medal, several Newbery honors, the Sibert Medal, the May Hill Arbuthnot Honor Lecture Award and the Laura Ingalls Wilder Medal for “a lasting and substantial contribution to children’s books.” Freedman also received the National Humanities Medal in 2007 in a ceremony at the White House.
