Family & Children’s Services of Central Maryland was named Harford County’s Youth Services Bureau (YSB) by the Department of Juvenile Services, this month. Youth Services Bureau’s are community-based organizations that provide prevention and early intervention services for youth and their families. YSB’s focus on the prevention of delinquency, youth suicide, drug and alcohol abuse, and strive to enhance protective factors, while decreasing risk factors for youth and their families in the county they reside in. Currently there are 19 other YSB’s throughout Maryland. As a YSB, Family & Children’s Services hopes to bring additional funding for youth to Harford County. Read more...
