Edgewood Middle School’s (EMS) sixth grade students spent time recently reading to second and fourth grade classes at Deerfield Elementary School. Their goal was to educate their younger counterparts on the importance of making reading at home a habit. The activity was an extension of their service learning project to benefit the Greater Edgewood Education Foundation’s Books-In-Hand program. EMS sixth graders sponsored a book drive to support this program which helps students improve reading scores over the summer. Read more...
