A small group of students is making a big impact at Bel Air High School. This fall, Bel Air High School set out to be one of the first public schools in the state – if not the nation – to initiate a full-scale composting program in their cafeteria. The process began with the efforts of a single student who wanted to make a difference.
One month earlier, Tyler Abbott, pictured at left, a junior at Bel Air High, sent an email to the Office of Resource Conservation. His message was brief, but to the point: “Mr. Cassilly, my name is Tyler Abbott, and I want to help in any way that I can.” Read more...
