Harford Ballet Company Member Receives Maryland Distinguished Scholar Award

Bel Air, MD – Harford Ballet Company member Rachel Cockerham was recently awarded the Maryland Distinguished Scholar Award for Dance.

Ms. Cockerham was one of 300 students across the state of Maryland chosen to receive the annual college scholarship. She performed her ‘Blue Bird’ variation from Harford Ballet Company’s Sleeping Beauty in front of a panel of professional judges for her audition. This is Rachel’s first season as an apprentice in the professional division of Harford Ballet and she has performed as a pre-professional member in works such as Sleeping Beauty, Wizard of Oz, Paquita and Rhapsody in Blue.
