(Bel Air, MD) - - The Harford County Department of Public Works in partnership with Maryland Department of Natural Resources recently completed construction of the Abingdon Library Rain Garden. The purpose of the Abingdon Library Rain Garden demonstration project is threefold. To improve water quality from the storm water runoff from a portion of the roof; to show how rain gardens can be attractive and functional amenities that fit within the natural landscape, and to encourage citizens to install rain gardens on their properties.
