Deadline Extended to June 20 for Bel Air Independence Day Parade Applications

(Bel Air, Maryland) The deadline for applications to join the Bel Air Independence Day Parade has been extended to June 20, the Bel Air Independence Day Committee announced.

The committee still seeks more floats, marching units, antique cars, and comic/novelty acts to join the area’s biggest and best 4th of July celebration! Local businesses and organizations can be part of the fun as well, with their own entry appearing in front of tens of thousands lining the parade route through downtown Bel Air. Read more...

Violence Prevention Weekend at Aberdeen Festival Park

Bob and Jean Day Pavilion Dedication on May 7 at the Dublin Country Fair

Dublin, Maryland – On May 7, at the 16th Annual Dublin Country Fair, the Dublin Darlington Recreation Council will formally dedicate the Bob and Jean Day Pavilion. The dedication will take place on the Dublin Country Fair Stage at 11AM.

Mr. and Mrs. Day were long-time members of the Dublin Darlington Recreation Council, and were the co-founders of the Dublin Dancers Square Dance program. The Dublin Dancers are the longest-running recreation program in Harford County, spanning over 40 years. They became active in the Dublin Recreation Council in 1965. Read more...

The Early Years Expo a Success

1st Expo featured resources for families with children ages birth to five years

(Bel Air, MD) - - The Early Years Expo was held Saturday, April 9 at Abingdon Elementary School. The event was produced by the Harford County Department of Community Services’ Local Management Board, in collaboration with the Early Childhood Roundtable and was sponsored by PNC Bank. It featured over 40 vendors with resources for families with children ages birth to five years, and was attended by 400 members of the community. Read more...

2011 Business Conference and Trade Show

The 18th Annual Business CONFERENCE & TRADE SHOW, “FINISH 1ST WITH HARFORD COUNTY BUSINESS” will be held on March 22, 2011 at the Harford Community College. The Trade Show has become the region’s largest trade show. Over 50 vendors will be present this year and all are welcome to attend. A special appearance will be made by Donnie Neuenberger NASCAR driver (pictured).

Bel Air Downtown Alliance Thanks Everyone for a Record-Setting 10th Annual Chocolate Festival

Nearly 1,500 people from in and around Bel Air, MD attended the 10th Annual Chocolate & Candy Festival on Saturday, March 5th at the Bel Air Armory and enjoyed a fun-filled afternoon in downtown Bel Air

BEL AIR, MD – The Bel Air Downtown Alliance celebrated the 10th Anniversary of their Chocolate & Candy Festival this past Saturday, March 5th at the Bel Air Armory. It was a fun-filled and family-friendly afternoon in Downtown Bel Air that featured local and regional chocolatiers, candy makers, and sweet treat merchants offering free samples of decadent treats, as well as, activities for kids and people of all ages with their Children’s Activity and 2nd Annual Downtown Bel Air Scavenger Hunt. The event also featured the results of their Chocolate & Candy Festival Logo Design Contest and a People’s Choice Logo Design Contest for the logo designs submitted by local students. Read more...

Havre de Grace’s French Culture is Celebrated with a Parade on Bourbon Street

Havre de Grace, MD - In the spirit of an authentic New Orleans Masquerade Ball, Havre de Grace welcomes visitors and locals to celebrate Mardi Gras along Bourbon Street with a parade to benefit the Havre de Grace Recreation Committee.

Floats will be constructed by local businesses and artisans and the parade will proceed from Bourbon Street and onto Washington Street. Havre de Grace embraces the French culture with a grand celebration. Book your stay at one of our lovely historic Bed and Breakfasts and celebrate like the French Quarter. The Havre de Grace Mardi Gras will culminate with a festive Main Street procession at 6:30 pm on Fat Tuesday, March 8th where procession watchers will enjoy costumed characters, decorated vehicles, energetic marchers and a feast of beads for their evening of festivities. Wine Expo 2011 at Harford Community College

Wine Expo 2011, hosted by Ronnie’s Fine Wine and Spirits and the Alumni and Friends Association of Harford Community College, will be held on Saturday, February 27, from 3 to 6 PM in the College’s Susquehanna Center. All proceeds will benefit the Alumni and Friends Association’s Scholarship Fund.

Enjoy an afternoon of wine, hors d’oeuvres, delectable desserts and a chocolate fountain from Bomboy’s Home Made Candies. Attendees will have the opportunity to sample over 200 fine wines from around the world from 35 East Coast vendors.
